You must submit an ELECTRONIC sign-up and permission slip which is available on the PTA website beginning Wednesday, December 22nd at 2pm and will remain open until Friday, January 14th at 8pm. The sign up form can be found HERE.
If you have more than one performer in your act, ONLY ONE parent representative should sign up for the act. That representative is responsible for coordinating with the Talent Show Committee for any additional requested paperwork and ensuring that all participants have a signed electronic permission slip to perform.
Once you have signed up for the Talent Show and your act has been approved, you will receive an email from the Talent Show Committee with information about uploading your performance video.
Each child may be in ONE ACT ONLY, either a solo or a group act.
All performers MUST attend Marengo Elementary.
Acts must be no longer than one minute (45 seconds is preferred if possible). No Exceptions.
There will be no repeat performances of songs. Priority will be given to the act that signs up first.
All vocal acts must use an instrumental version of the song. No lip-synching will be allowed.
You are responsible for your own props and costumes.
No inappropriate music, dance or language will be permitted. If your video contains anything that is not school appropriate, it will not be included in the talent show.
The talent show this year is going to be virtual. All acts must be taped and submitted to be professionally edited together to create the 2022 talent show.
Once your act has been approved, the Talent Show Committee will send you an email with information about uploading your performance video.
ALL VIDEOS MUST BE UPLOADED BY FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 11TH. Absolutely no late submissions will be accepted. If there are any issues with the submitted video, the talent show committee will contact you. Any video over 1 minute in length will not be accepted.
It is the PERFORMER’S responsibility to tape and edit their performance video. No editing will be done on the video after it has been submitted. All background music must be already in the video. The committee will not be adding any music.
Make sure that you video in HORIZONTAL format at the highest quality setting.
We highly recommend doing some research as to how to get the best video quality out of the camera/phone you will be using.
Light your video. Make sure that you have lots of light. Natural light is great! Use the exposure lock on your camera to keep the lighting the way that you want throughout the video.
Use a tripod to avoid shaky videos.
Make sure that the sound quality is great. If you are singing or playing an instrument, use a microphone. If you are using music for dance, make sure that the music is the correct and a consistent volume throughout. No editing will be done by the talent show committee after videos are submitted.
Take a bow after you are done performing!
Be creative with the editing of your video and add anything fun that you want to it!

Above all else, HAVE FUN and enjoy the performance!
